Ambassador Nur told the
dinner ceremony that the main objective of the congregation was to encourage
the Ocean starts who have been engaged in training sessions in Nairobi for the
past two days ahead of their first CECAFA game against Burundi on Thursday.
"You are carrying the
nation’s dignity and name on your shoulders---- I am fully proud of your performance
and I wish you all the best” ambassador Nur told National team coach Mohamed Abdulle
Farayare and his boys.
Ocean stars head coach
Mohamed Abdulle Farayare and his deputy Mohamed Abdullahi Abokar who addressed
at the dinner ceremony described the diplomat as a ‘real patriot’ who always
stands alongside the national team.
Somali Football
Federation President Ali Said Guled Roble who delivered a short speech at the
dinner ceremony said that since he took over the Somali diplomatic mission in Kenya
Mr Nur was known for his encouragement and assistance to the national team.
The 2013 CECAFA senior
challenge cup is due to kick off in Nairobi on the 27th of November,
while Somalia will play against Burundi in the following day. In its second match
Somalia will take on Tanzania on the 1st of December while, Somalia
will have its last match of the group stage against Zambia on December 4.
