The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announces that this weekend’s final matches of the 2012 Orange Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will be declared as matches of support to fight Hunger in the Horn of Africa.

This campaign dubbed “CAF Against Hunger - Support the Horn of Africa" will be implemented before kick off during all the matches.

Captains of the two teams will read out the message in their respective languages after the national anthems to signify the support of the African football family towards the “Horn of Africa”.

At its meeting on September 29, 2011; the CAF Executive Committee approved to donate a sum of $200,000 through the African Union to help victims of drought in the region and decreed that the ultimate matches of the 2012 CAN qualifiers will be devoted to the advocacy.

CAF is rallying all National Associations to participate in the solidarity movement. The FIFPRO Africa union of players have also joined this cause to lend their support
