This was termed as ‘an
unprecedented’ move forward in the country’s football history as the course was
the first of its kind that the FDF ever gets from FIFA and it was held at the
National technical centre.
The high profile course
which ran from 10 to 14th of May gathered 23 coaches including two
women and was conducted by FIFA instructor Mr. Vincent Alexander.
Djibouti Football
Federation President Mr Souleiman Hassan Waberi who addressed at the conclusion
ceremony of the course thanked FIFA for always being very respective to all
their demands toward the promotion of football in the country.
"Today is an immense day
for Djibouti Football, because what we are concluding here is the first such
course that FIFA holds for us—this is a very clear indication that the world
body was always with us in all our endeavours for football progression”
President Souleiman Hassan Waberi told the closing ceremony on Wednesday.
"The main objective behind
the organization of this course was solely to improve the quality and quantity
of our goalkeepers both men and women---now we don’t have enough goalkeepers
and as well as enough goalkeeper coaches, but I am sure that we are on the way
to grow from where we are now and that actually will happen” the president
explained during his address.
Others who spoke at the conclusion
ceremony include: FIFA expert Vincent Alexander, Djibouti ministry of sport
representative Mohamed Farah and technical director Mohamed Omar Ali.
