The Galkayo-based COMSED football team has received football equipment during an honour dinner organized for them by Mogadishu Sea port manager Abdullahi Ali Nur at the Lido Sea Food restaurant in Mogadishu over night on Monday.

Somali Football Federation authorities, division A club chairmen, coaches and some key footballers have also attended last night’s dinner ceremony for the visiting team from the Puntland regional state of Somalia.

The COMSED football team chairman Abdi Qani Khalif Arabey told the ceremony that he was very happy with the high level reception his delegation received in Mogadishu from the very beginning of their arrival in the capital last week.

"We are feeling brotherhood, friendship and being highly respected, our travel to Mogadishu was part of the ongoing football development in Somalia---we heard that some three anti football development individuals have misinterpreted our trip to Somali capital, but I tell with a loud voice that fortunately the entire football-loving people in the Puntland state of Somalia sent us messages in support of our activities” the COMSED football team chairman Abdi Qani Khalif Arabey told the ceremony last night.

"We came from a part of Somalia and we are in another part of Somalia, we have been invited by our Somali Football Federation and we are happily staying amongst our people here in the capital” Mr Arabey noted.

He urged what he described as ‘some three anti football development’ individuals who announced unwanted words in London to justify for their mistakes and stop the kind of misinterpretation against the COMSED football team’s stay in Somali capital.

Somali Football Federation Secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab started his speech with thanks and gratefulness to the founder of COMSED football team Dr. Abdulkader Mahmoud Jama known as ‘Dr. Dhaga Adde who had spent much money, time and energy in the promotion of Somali Football so far.

"Dr. Dhaga Adde is a health professional, but he also played a key role in football, that means he buckled himself down to assisting his people in different ways, as he gave scores of young boys a chance to become football players preventing them from falling into the hands of notorious criminals and warmongers in the country” Somali Football federation Secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab told the dinner ceremony over night on Monday.

He said that COMSED paved the way for more other teams from regions access the country to come to Mogadishu as part of the preparations for the launch of the regional level football leagues in the near future.

On the behalf of Somali FA the secretary General urged the country’s division A football clubs namely the defending champions Elman FC and Dekedda FC to travel to Galkayo in return for the COMSED arrival in capital.

However, Mogadishu Port manager and the financer of Dekedda FC Abdullahi Ali Nur announced that his club will soon travel to Galkayo where they will have a friendly match against COMSED.

"There has been contacts between us and the COMSED administration for eyars and for a long time we have been planning to travel to Galkayo, but hopefully we will do so as soon as possible” Mogadishu port manager Abdullahi Ali Nur told the diner ceremony on Monday night.

"We are planning to make trips to Galkayo and other regions in the country for friendly games” Mr Nur added calling on other clubs in the regions to come to Mogadishu promising high profile welcome for them. Other officials who addressed at the ceremony include: Elman FC chairman Abdulahi Gure and Dekeda FC Secretary General Abdullahi Nur Bashir.
