Somali
Football Federation authorities, division A club chairmen, coaches and some key
footballers have also attended last night’s dinner ceremony for the visiting
team from the Puntland regional state of Somalia.
The
COMSED football team chairman Abdi Qani Khalif Arabey told the ceremony that he
was very happy with the high level reception his delegation received in
Mogadishu from the very beginning of their arrival in the capital last week.
"We are
feeling brotherhood, friendship and being highly respected, our travel to
Mogadishu was part of the ongoing football development in Somalia---we heard
that some three anti football development individuals have misinterpreted our
trip to Somali capital, but I tell with a loud voice that fortunately the entire
football-loving people in the Puntland state of Somalia sent us messages in
support of our activities” the COMSED football team chairman Abdi Qani Khalif
Arabey told the ceremony last night.
"We came
from a part of Somalia and we are in another part of Somalia, we have been
invited by our Somali Football Federation and we are happily staying amongst
our people here in the capital” Mr Arabey noted.
He urged
what he described as ‘some three anti football development’ individuals who
announced unwanted words in London to justify for their mistakes and stop the
kind of misinterpretation against the COMSED football team’s stay in Somali
capital.
Somali
Football Federation Secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab started his speech
with thanks and gratefulness to the founder of COMSED football team Dr.
Abdulkader Mahmoud Jama known as ‘Dr. Dhaga Adde who had spent much money, time
and energy in the promotion of Somali Football so far.
"Dr.
Dhaga Adde is a health professional, but he also played a key role in football,
that means he buckled himself down to assisting his people in different ways,
as he gave scores of young boys a chance to become football players preventing
them from falling into the hands of notorious criminals and warmongers in the
country” Somali Football federation Secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab told
the dinner ceremony over night on Monday.
He said
that COMSED paved the way for more other teams from regions access the country
to come to Mogadishu as part of the preparations for the launch of the regional
level football leagues in the near future.
On the
behalf of Somali FA the secretary General urged the country’s division A
football clubs namely the defending champions Elman FC and Dekedda FC to travel
to Galkayo in return for the COMSED arrival in capital.
However,
Mogadishu Port manager and the financer of Dekedda FC Abdullahi Ali Nur
announced that his club will soon travel to Galkayo where they will have a
friendly match against COMSED.
"There
has been contacts between us and the COMSED administration for eyars and for a
long time we have been planning to travel to Galkayo, but hopefully we will do
so as soon as possible” Mogadishu port manager Abdullahi Ali Nur told the diner
ceremony on Monday night.
"We are
planning to make trips to Galkayo and other regions in the country for friendly
games” Mr Nur added calling on other clubs in the regions to come to Mogadishu
promising high profile welcome for them. Other
officials who addressed at the ceremony include: Elman FC chairman Abdulahi Gure
and Dekeda FC Secretary General Abdullahi Nur Bashir.
