Djibouti lost Football expert.

Djibouti’s Football Federation has announced that a football expert and long time executive committee member Jibril Ismail Nur has died at a hospital In Belgium where he was taken for treatment.


Deputy Secretary General Suleyman Waberi said in an emailed press statement on Thursday that due to severe health problems Mr. Nur was flown to Belgium where he perished over the weekend.

“He was our Football Federation executive committee member for the past fourteen years and he lent a forceful commitment to developing football In Djibouti” Suleyman Waberi said in his statement Thursday.

“We have lost a great football man whose remembrance will always remain in our minds” the statement added. “On Behalf of Djibouti Football Federation, President Hussein Fadoul Dabar is sending his heart-felt condolence to Nur’s Family, friends and the whole football community in the country “the statement added.

He said that a two week-long mourning will continue in Djibouti in remembrance of the late football expert. Although it has never qualified for world cup, but Djibouti is a growing football nation in the east Africa region.
