With Somalia’s 2010-2011 first division soccer championship interestingly taking place at the political science University stadium, Elman FC on Monday defeated its Savana FC rivals by a goal to nothing.

Thousands of jubilant football fans occupied the stadium hours before the match kick off on Monday afternoon. The first half of the match ended in 0-0 draw, but in the 62^nd minute of the second half Elman’s Qasim Sidow Hassan scored the golden goal for his team.

 

Both teams presented a very good exhibition which attracted the attention of thousands of spectators at the stadium.

 

International Referee Mohamed Hassan Fidow was officiating Monday’s match, while his 1^st and 2^nd assistants were Muktar Moalim Yusuf and Abdirahman Abdi Omar, as Nur Jesto was the fourth official.  Like wise Salad Osman Mohamed was the match commissioner.

 

During the hotly-contested competition one player from each team was yellow carded as shown below.
