Elman defeats Savana by 1-0

With Somalia’s 2010-2011 first division soccer championship interestingly taking place at the political science University stadium, Elman FC on Monday defeated its Savana FC rivals by a goal to nothing.


Thousands of jubilant football fans occupied the stadium hours before the match kick off on Monday afternoon. The first half of the match ended in 0-0 draw, but in the 62nd minute of the second half Elman’s Qasim Sidow Hassan scored the golden goal for his team.

 

Both teams presented a very good exhibition which attracted the attention of thousands of spectators at the stadium.

 

International Referee Mohamed Hassan Fidow was officiating Monday’s match, while his 1st and 2nd assistants were Muktar Moalim Yusuf and Abdirahman Abdi Omar, as Nur Jesto was the fourth official.  Like wise Salad Osman Mohamed was the match commissioner.

 

During the hotly-contested competition one player from each team was yellow carded as shown below.
