Banadir’s golden goal from a ‘free kick’ shoot was scored
by its captain Dadir Amin Ali in the 43rd minute of the 1sthalf of the match which ended in 1-0 in favour of Banadir Sports Club.
Thursday’s match was one of the most zealous matches to
be played so far since the league resumed, as Heegan was trying to grip on its
lead whilst Banadir was committed to taking over the league leadership
according to its manager.
In the early minutes of the second half, both sides
launched successive attacks on each other’s goals, but unfortunately none of
them happened to score. In the 88th minute of the second half the referee
awarded a penalty kick with Heegan’s Jibril Hassan Mohamed.
This could have been the most golden chance for the Somali
police-owned club Heegan, if they scored a goal, but unluckily the chance lost
and lead Heegan’s fans to leave the stadium as they lost hopes.
In the last minutes of the match, Banadir Sports Club who
were committed to tightening their victory, changed tactics by consolidating
their defence lines in a bid to protect their opponents from reaching their
goal and as a result the 90-minute period it takes to play a football match
ended in 1-0 in favour of Banadir Sports club who are now leading the Somali
league with 10 points whilst Heegan is in the 2nd place with 9
points and defending champions Elman FC in the 3rd place.
According to the schedules of the league, Savana FC who is
at the bottom of the competition will encounter Elman on Friday, while Saturday
and Sunday will be rest days, with Somali football federation letting local
fans a chance to watch international competitions mostly played on Weekends.
