CECAFA sends message of condolence to Somali FA

As the tragic incident of the dead and the injuries of young Somali Football players, has shocked the whole world, the secretary General of the CECAFA region Mr. Nicholas Musonye has sent a condolence message to Somali Football federation and the family of the slain U-20 footballer Abdi Salaan Mohamed Ali who was killed in suicide attack on Monday.


“The Council
of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA take this opportunity to deliver a message of condolences to the families of the departed Somali players” CECAFA Secretary General Mr. Nicholas Musone said in a message he sent to Somali Football Federation.

“We have received the sad news with profound shock and wish to mourn with the bereaved families the tragic loss of their loved ones” the secretary General said in his condolence message to Somalia.

He said that CECAFA has been following keenly the efforts of Somalia FA to develop and spread football across the country and we have been encouraging them to do so. We feel sad that this had to happen to the talented players. We wish the bereaved families God's guidance and grace.

Monday’s twin suicide attacks also wounded two other football players Mahmoud Amin Mohamed and Siid Ali Mohamed Xiis. The young footballers have been coming back from early morning training session.
