The first vice president of Somali Football Federation (SFF) Mr. Ali Said Guled has greatly praised authorities of the Somali police-owned sports club of Heegan which recently formed its football team.

The vice president delivered his congratulatory message to the Heegan Club administrators during a meeting with the club’s chairman Colonel Ali Abdi Mohamed nicknamed as Shiine.

 

Mr. Ali Said stated that Somalia’s sporting history will ever be mentioning the tangible activities made by  Heegan Club authorities and in particular the financer of the club and Somali Police chief General Abdi Hassan Awale (Qeybdid)

 

The club which had already owned teams of basketball, handball, volleyball and athletics has now its own football team for the first time.

 

Last week the recently formed Heegan soccer team had three friendly games with the nation’s U 17 squad which is currently under preparation for the upcoming CECAFA U 17 football competition which will be held in Sudanese capital Khartoum.
