Djiboutian FA boss, Souleiman Hassan Waberi, has been more successful in his first attempt for CAF executive committee, as he was elected to the top governing body of Africa's football ruling organization (CAF) during elections in Ethiopian capital Adds Ababa on Thursday.

Securing 20 votes in the first round was enough for Mr. Waberi to unseat his closest contender Sudan’s Magdi Shams Eldin who gained 12 votes and decided to resign before going into the second round fight.

Other challengers were Ethiopian FA boss Tilmo Juneidi who got 9 votes and the president of Uganda FA Moses Magogo who collected only 7 votes. The due were eliminated in the first round.

Talking to the media after his victory, President Souleiman Hassan Waberi said. "I would like to thank all those who voted for me and struggled for reformation. Today’s victory is part of the revolution for change in African football administration”.

In January this year, the Djiboutian football administrator, Souleiman Hassan Waberi came into the FIFA competitions committee and was one of Africa’s very few people in the new FIFA sub committees.
