Lesotho’s Under 17 junior national football side, the Bahlabani, left the country on Thursday for a four-nation tournament to be staged in South Africa.
Lesotho will play Botswana, Swaziland and the hosts during a tournament will be staged at the George Thabe Stadium in Sharpville from Friday to Sunday.
The Bahlabani will open the tournament playing against South Africa on Friday and will entertain Swaziland on Saturday before facing Botswana on the last day of the contest on Sunday.
Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) spokesperson, Baba Malephane said here that the objective of the tournament is a celebration of South Africa’s Human Rights Day activities.
On the other hand, this is Lesotho’s preparations for the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Under 17 junior tournament to be staged in Swaziland later this year, he said.
The Lesotho team consists of 20 players who have been training for the past two weeks in preparations for the event.
