Mr Roble who has been leading the Somali Football
Federation since after the death of former president Said Mahmoud Nur on April
4 2012, announced his pleasure to accept the outcome of Sunday’s election which
he termed as ‘the most democratic’ exercise he ever witnessed in such
war-devastated country.
"Taking advantage from this opportunity, I fully praise
the congress for having implemented a democratic election and secondly I
congratulate my former secretary general for being elected as Somali Football
federation president, he deserves to embrace such high profile responsibility”
former SFF president told a post election press conference.
"Here in front of the local and the international media
and as well as in front of Somali NOC president Abdullahi Ahmed Tarabi and the
deputy minister for youth and sports Osman Mohamed Abdi, I announce that I have
accepted the result and I declare that It was a free and fair election which was
fully in line with the SFF constitution” the former SFF boss told the media.
Mr Roble praised the new president for having developed a
very professional cooperation with him, while he served as his secretary
General.
"The stakeholders, the former executive committee and the
secretariat are all praiseworthy for playing a key role in the promotion of
football in entire the country—we really had very lovely days of cooperation
and I hope you will resume from there” the former Somali Football federation
President Ali Said Guled Roble emphasised.
Mr. Roble who was one of Somalia’s well known footballers
in 1960s said as long as he is still alive he will be contributing his time,
experience and energy to the promotion of football in his country.
