World football has lost a great veteran, says FIFA Boss

President of the world football governing body FIFA Joseph S. Blatter said in a condolence letter he sent to Confederation of African football and Somali football federation that with the sudden death of Farah Wehliye Addo, the world has lost a great sports veteran.

 


“The death of Farah Addo corresponds to a great loss for the whole world and I would like to offer my sincerest condolence to you, CAF and the African and Somali football communities Mr. Blatter said in his condolence message, a copy of it obtained by Somali football press department.

 

FIFA boss said in his letter that the late Mr. Addo lent Somali Football a forceful voice in African and the world football.

 

“His commitment of our sport and the Olympic movement made him a key figure in both our organizations, while his contribution to African Refereeing and the numerous FIFA committees of which he was a member will go down in the annals of football history.

 

“Despite the disagreements which opposed us, I am happy that I, in my capacity as FIFA president, shortly before his passing away which appeared closer, could lift the sanction imposed on him, and on a personal could pardon the past” FIFA boss said in his condolence letter.

 

Joseph S. Blatter also sent his deepest sympathy and support to the late Farah Addo’s widow and his family at this sorrowful time.
