Somali division A league 2nd round resumes in capital

The Somali Football Federation has resumed the second leg of its division A soccer league in Mogadishu on Thursday with the defending champions Elman FC defeating Badbaado FC by 5-2 in the inauguration match of the Somali League second leg.


The president of Somali Football Federation Ali Said Guuleed Rooble who addressed at a small ceremony which intended to mark on the resumption of the league urged both teams to exhibit good game and show fair play.

“This division A league is the biggest and the most important competition we hold and its players are the most senior footballers we have, so we want you to satisfy the federation members and the thousands of fans who came here to watch your match” president Ali Said Guuleed told players of both clubs before Thursday’s match kick off.

The first half of the match ended in 1-0 with Elman FC in the lead, but in the second half the Badbaado FC boys happened to score two goals, but that didn’t hold them from falling to Elman whose boys humiliated their Badbaado rivals by 5-2.

The Elman FC who is the defending champions of the Somali soccer league is now leading the competition with 20 points, while Badbaado is in the bottom in accordance with the league standings.

According to the schedules of the tournament the LLPP Jeenyo will take on Sahafi FC on Friday, while FC ports will play against the police owned club Heegan on Saturday.
