SAVANA, a soccer club which plays in Somalia’s 1st division football championship defeated its Supper shell rivals by 2-1 in a less-viewed match held at the Somali political science university stadium in Mogadishu on Monday afternoon.

SAVANA’s Abdalladif Sheik Ahmed put into the opposite goal in the 7^th minute of the first half of the match which attracted the smallest number of fans since the first division championship recommenced in Mogadishu last month.

Both teams stepped up attacking on each other’s goal, but none of them happened to gain a chance to score before the end of the first half which concluded in 1-0 with SAVANA leading.

Abdi Qani Mahmoud Buule of SAVANA scored the second goal for his team in the 50^th minute, but supper Shell’s Mohamed Abdulkadeer Abokar scored the lone goal for his team a minute later in the 51^st minute.

How ever the match ended in 2-1 in favor of SAVANA whose Monday’s victory was the first it gained since the championship restarted on January 21^st.

On Tuesday the Somali police club ‘Heegan’ will play against Mogadishu port’s FC, while according to the schedules of the competition on Wednesday will be a rest day. Like wise the Daalo airlines-owned club ‘SITT’ will meet Elman on Thursday. This is expected to gather the biggest number of fans yet.

Thousands of fans from different regions in entire Somalia are currently pouring into the capital Mogadishu willing to watch Thursday’s match.
