Refreshment course for Somali soccer referees ends in Mogadishu

At least 45 national and International level Somali Football referees on Thursday ended a four-day refreshment course, before the country’s 1st division soccer championship recommences in the capital on Friday.


The referees who also passed in the cooper test examination were selected to officiate the 1st division championship which is the biggest soccer event that Somali Football Federation organizes.

 

Somali Football Federation secretary Genaral Abdi Qani Said Arab who addressed at the closing ceremony of the refreshment course said that 2011 is the year of education for Somali Football Federation and more local and international courses are due before the end of this year.

 

The referees were given more explanations about the latest rules and regulations that exceeded to the International football laws of the game.

 

“Education is more important and football cannot promote without knowledge so that is why we are prioritizing the education so that we can recover from years of setback” SFF secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab said during Thursday’s closing ceremony.

 

“Each referee has to work as double, because a very hard job is waiting for you” the secretary General told the referees at the end of the four-day refreshment course on Thursday.


Former International referees and current national instructors Hassan Mohamed Mahmoud, Abdi Abdulle Ahmed, Aweys Ahmed jimaale, Salad Osman Mohamed, Hassan Sheylilah Adde and Saa’id Ahmed Abokar were conducting the refreshment course.
