SFF forms different categories of National teams

Somali football federation (SFF) has for the first times formed three different national teams who will represent the nation of Somalia in international football matches, secretary general revealed Sunday.


Somali football federation secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab said in a press statement that this year Somali football  federation is very proud of having three different teams of football including : the seniors, the Under 17 and the Under 20, while Somalia previously had only two national teams, the Seniors and the U 17.

 

“Although our capability is too less and the country is experiencing anarchy and disorder, hence we came to decision to have three teams of different categories as the peaceful and developed nations do and we have approached our ambition” the secretary General said in his statement.

 

“We are committed to sharing something with other nations in the world when it comes to football activities and we will continue that effort what ever it takes to us” the secretary general added.

 

“The recently ended Somali football championship yielded positive results, because nearly hundred prominent players who are able to represent their nation in international football competitions were selected from the championship” he added.

 

On behalf of Somalia, the secretary General praised the world’s football governing body FIFA for its constantan financial assistance and encouragement to Somalia, which lead the lawless country to compete against stabled countries with functioning governmental institutions.
