Top Somali Premier League side shows solidarity with Palestine, as Israeli troops storm Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The second leg of Somali Premier League, has resumed on Monday after the Ramadan break. The opening match of the top footballing event was played at Stadium Mogadishu, the country's national football facility.

Top Premier League side, Heegan Sports Club defeated Midnimo FC 2-1 in the first game of the second leg on Monday. Meanwhile, Heegan Sports Club, became the first sports club in Somalia to show solidarity with the people of Palestine who have been under heavy bombardment by Israel for the past several days.

Before the match kick off, Heegan’s players were seen posing for a photo as they held a shirt with the flag of Palestine pictured on it to show support for the Palestinians.

The clubs officials said that carrying the flag of Palestine was meant to show solidarity with the people of Palestine in this time of suffering and hardships, as Israel continues to drop bombs on Palestinians and its troops stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s 3rdholiest place.
