SFF launches FIFA MA refereeing course for Somalia in Mogadishu

Somali Football Federation had today launched a FIFA MA refereeing course for Somalia under the auspice of the world football's governing body FIFA.


The training course which is scheduled to conclude on 11th of September has brought together some 30 referees including national and international levels and it is being conducted by FIFA fitness instructor, Mohamed Hussein Ali (Djibouti) and FIFA technical instructor, Ali Mohamed Ahmed (Somalia).

Instructor, Mohamed Hussein Ali, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the refereeing course on the behalf of FIFA and CAF, said he was fully attracted by the high profile organisation for the course, thanking Somali football federation for producing talented referees.



"Somali football referees are very active in the continent and I am delightful that they have been performing well in all matches they officiated from the CECAFA region to continental and international levels” FIFA Instructor, Mohamed Hussein Ali, said during his speech at the opening ceremony on Saturday.

"Before concluding my speech, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Somali football federation president, Abdiqani Said Arab for his recent promotion to CAF executive committee and as well as my congratulations are due to the president of Djibouti football federation, Souleiman Hassan Waberi, for retaining his duty as CAF referees committee chairman for another two years. This is a remarkable achievement for both brotherly countries” FIFA Instructor, Mohamed Hussein Ali noted.

"This is my second time I am coming to Somalia for a FIFA duty and I am hopeful I will always be back to Somalia” the FIFA instructor said. The FIFA instructors are being assisted by local instructors Abdi Abdulle Ahmed (Fitness instructor) and Aweys Nur Ahmed (Technical instructor).
